No matter where you are but travelling, highways are always boring. But UAE doesn’t do anything remotely boring. Hence, their iconic highway Sheikh Zayed Road have scenic views of building touching the cloud. The road was constructed to connect UAE’s two biggest cities – Dubai and Abu Dhabi, which makes it the longest highway in Emirates.
You wouldn’t think that a highway can be a tourist attraction and Dubai prove everyone wrong once again. The area is loaded by dazzling towers touching the skyline. MALLS ON SHEIKH ZAYED ROAD:
There are a bunch of malls on the road, some of them are Oasis Mall, Times Square Centre, Mall of the Emirates, etc. All of these malls offer a wide range of shops from luxury retail brands, entertainment spots, cafes, and restaurants.
RESTAURANTS ON SHEIKH ZAYED ROAD:
Dubai is a multicultural city, so you can find your favourite fast-food vendor on the Sheikh Zayed Road. KFC, McDonald’s, Subway, Wendy’s, have their outlet in various part on the road. If you are looking for casual dining restaurants, then visit American diner Johnny Rockets, Lebanese eatery Zaroob and Thai restaurant Little Bangkok.
But the most variety is found in fine dining restaurant in many hotels. Some popular restaurants are Brazillian meat eatery Chamas in the Crown Plaza Hotel, Indian restaurant Tresind in the VOCO Hotel and European restaurant Noire in the Fairmount Hotel.

BEACHES NEAR SHEIKH ZAYED ROAD:
When you think about Dubai, you imagine desert and tall buildings. Beaches don’t even cross our mind. But the fact is there are well-known beaches – Jumeirah Beach, Kite Beach and JBR Beach. All of which are within a 15-minute drive from Sheikh Zayed Road. You will be amazed by the amenities on these beaches, as you will see shaded walkways, waterfront restaurants, and more.
LEISURE ACTIVITIES AND NOTABLE LANDMARKS
Due to close proximity to a lot of residential and commercial buildings, everything is very close to SZR. Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa are two famous landmarks which lie near this region. You can also see the breathtaking The Dubai Fountain, from the highway. Even five-star grand hotels such as Sheraton Grand Hotel Dubai, Crowne Plaza Hotel, the Fairmount Dubai, and Towers Rotana are all visible from the highway.
The Dubai World Trade Centre, which used to be the tallest building in Dubai, is also in the area. As of now, the building host gigantic events, exhibitions and conferences, such as Comic-Con Dubai, World Art Dubai, Gulfood, Gitex, etc. which are open to people.
Dubai also has its own tall twin Emirates towers, one of which is commercial while the other is Jumeirah Emirates Tower Hotel. Soon, the area will also feature the Museum of the Future near the twin towers.
If you are in the mood of socializing, then the Al Satwa Park behind the Towers Rotana Hotel is the place for you. It is a small well-maintained park to hangout. A bigger park is Zabeel Park which features more amenities for both adults and children. There are even areas to barbecue, Go-karts in the Zabeel Park.
A lot of event takes place in Dubai throughout the year. If you are a tech geek, then you should visit the Gitex event held in Dubai World Trade Centre. Other notable events in the centre are Beauty world, Automechanika, Arab Health, etc. As an art lover, Alif Art Gallery is a heaven on earth. The gallery regularly hosts cultural events and local and international artists’ works.
